We are using G Suite for our HERS Online platform. G Suite collects several Google apps (e.g., Drive, Docs, Hangouts, Meet, Sites) under the ehersnetwork domain.
These are the apps we will use most frequently:
Google Drive -- This is where we store documents and upload assignments
Share documents, spreadsheets, presentations, forms and drawings. Within Google Drive, we have created shared drives for Facilitators (that only facilitators can access), Participants, and teams. We can use Drive and Docs to share readings and to collaborate on projects.
Google Sites -- This site and the Participants' Page are built in Google Sites
Essentially serves as the LMS for HERS Online so we can keep related documents, web content, and other information in one place, on one site.
Google Meet -- This is for video conferences
With Google Hangouts Meet, you can hold impromptu video meetings on the go, office hours, and much more.
Google Chat -- This is for online chats
Chat directly with a participant or communicate with the entire cohort at once.
Google Groups -- This is for asynchronous discussions
Create discussion threads for the entire cohort or for individual teams.
For help with using Google Apps, contact Shannon Reed at Shannon@ehersnetwork.org or go to the Google Learning Center.
With your Google account, you will have access to Google Drive.
Once you login to Google with your account, you will see, in the upper right-hand corner of your window, your initial and a cluster of nine dots--this is the Google App Navigator.
Once you click on the App Navigator, you will see a dropdown menu with Google Apps, like Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Meet, Chat, and Contacts.
